Roach Guts Wish (How to Get Tacks Tool)

Roach Guts is a simple Hunt Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Two hungry locals in Sinner’s Road are craving a delicacy—Muckroach guts—and it’s up to you to hunt down the creatures and bring back the tasty prize.

Muckroach Farming Locations

Muckroaches are common enemies found all along Sinner’s Road. The map below highlights some of the most convenient locations to farm them. An especially easy spot is near the entrance from Greymoor.

How to Start the Quest

To begin the Roach Guts wish, you first need to find the quest givers, Benjin and Crull. They are located in a small hut in the top-right area of Sinner’s Road. Reaching their hideout requires some decent platforming and possibly a few pogo jumps off objects or enemies. Speak with them inside their hut to learn about their craving and to officially accept the wish.

Important!

Roach Guts will not drop from Muckroaches until you have spoken to Benjin and Crull and accepted the quest.

Roach Guts Quest Walkthrough

1. Hunt the Muckroaches

   With the quest active, start exploring Sinner’s Road and defeating any Muckroaches you find. Each one now has a chance to drop a Roach Gut. Your goal is to collect a total of 10.

   

   Combat Strategy

   The key to defeating Muckroaches is patience. They often perform a forward pounce that cannot be interrupted. The best strategy is a “hit-and-run” approach: get a few hits in, back away when they prepare to pounce, and then move back in to attack after they land.

   

2. Return to Benjin and Crull

   Once you have collected all 10 Roach Guts, return to the hut in the top-right of Sinner’s Road. Speak with Benjin and Crull again to deliver the delicacy. They will be overjoyed and give you your reward.

Rewards for Roach Guts

For completing this hunt, you will receive a brand-new tool that can be used in combat and exploration.

• Tacks (Tool): A set of sharp spikes you can place on the ground. Any enemy that walks over them will take damage. You get a stock of 7 Tacks, and you can refill them at any bench by spending a few Shell Shards.
