Forebrothers Signis and Gron Boss Fight Guide

The Forebrothers Signis and Gron are a challenging duo boss fight hidden in the scorching depths of Deep Docks. This multi-stage battle tests your endurance, crowd control, and ability to manage two distinct enemy patterns at once. The fight begins with the ground-based Signis, but quickly escalates when his aerial brother, Gron, joins the fray.

How to Find Signis & Gron

This boss is located in a hidden, locked area in the southwest of Deep Docks. Reaching them requires some exploration and a key.

Unlocking the Area

1. Get a Simple Key You’ll need one Simple Key to open the main gate. You can buy one from merchants or find one in areas like Sinner’s Road.

2. Find the Locked Gate From the main chamber in Deep Docks (near where you fought Tessela), head left and then down. Follow the path to the right, below the Forge Daughter, to find the locked gate.

3. Navigate to the Arena Once inside, you’ll need the Grappling Hook to navigate the treacherous environment. Explore the area to unlock shortcuts. The boss arena is at the very bottom-left of this hidden zone.

Best Runback Path for Forebrothers

The runback can be long, but there’s a shortcut.

Tip

From the main bench near the Forge Daughter, head right and go down. At the room with the explosive and digging enemies, drop down into a hidden hole between the two platforms. Glide down carefully past the thorns. Once at the bottom, head left to reach the arena quickly.

Build & Preparation

This build focuses on AoE damage, survivability, and dealing with both ground and air targets.

• Ability: Rune Rage - The best choice for hitting both brothers at once when they are close together.
• Crest: Hunter’s Crest - Grants a powerful dash attack that is perfect for punishing Signis after dodging his attacks.
• Tools:
  • Cogwork Wheel: Excellent for dealing consistent damage to the ground-based Signis while you focus on dodging Gron.
  • Tacks: Great for area denial. Scatter them on the floor to deal chip damage to Signis as he moves around.
  • Magma Bell: Provides fire resistance, which significantly reduces damage from the ceiling lava hazard.
  • Fractured Mask: Gives you an extra hit, which is invaluable in a long, chaotic duo fight.

How to Beat Forebrothers Signis and Gron

The key is to take the brothers down one at a time. Do not try to split your damage.

1. Phase 1: Defeat Signis Alone The fight starts with just you versus Signis. Learn his two simple ground attacks. This phase is straightforward; focus on dodging his throws and punishing him with dash attacks or pogo jumps.

2. Phase 2: Focus Fire on Signis When Gron joins, the fight becomes chaotic. Your top priority is to eliminate Signis as quickly as possible. He will already be damaged from Phase 1. Ignore Gron and focus all your attacks on Signis.

3. Control Minions and Arena Hazards During the duo phase, the fight gets more complicated with two extra elements you need to manage.

   First, Shield Minions will be summoned. Kill them immediately, as the arena is too small to have extra enemies swarming you.

   Second, lava will pour from the ceiling. Keep an eye on the top of the screen for drips that telegraph where the lava will fall, and reposition yourself to a safe spot.

4. Phase 3: Finish Gron Once Signis is defeated, the fight becomes much easier. Gron is slower and his aerial attacks are highly telegraphed. Keep a safe distance, dodge his dives, and punish him when he lands.

Attack Patterns & Counters

Signis’s Attacks (The Ground Fighter)

Spear Flurry

Melee / Combo 1 Mask

Signis performs a quick, multi-hit combo with his spear directly in front of him.

Counter: Dash away to out-range the combo, or jump and pogo on his head for damage.

Spinning Throw

Ranged 1 Mask

Signis spins his spear and throws it horizontally across the arena like a boomerang.

Counter: A simple jump will clear the spear. If you time the jump well, you can dash in and punish him as the spear is returning.

Gron’s Attacks (The Aerial Fighter)

Aerial Spear Toss

Ranged / Aerial 1 Mask

Gron jumps into the air and throws a spear down at your position.

Counter: Simply dash or walk out of the way as he throws it. This move is highly telegraphed.

Diving Burst

Melee / AoE 1 Mask

Gron leaps high and then dives straight down with his spear, causing a small shockwave on impact.

Counter: Dash away as he dives. Be sure to stay out of the small burst radius when he hits the ground. This is a good opportunity to attack him as he recovers.

Rewards

Defeating the Forebrothers is a major accomplishment that unlocks access to a new area and several valuable items.
