Balm for the Wounded Wish (Sherma Location)
Balm for the Wounded is a Wayfarer Wish available in Act 2 of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This quest involves finding Sherma, a kind pilgrim from Songclave who has gone missing in the mysterious Whiteward region.
Quest Overview How to Start the Quest
Section titled “How to Start the Quest”Unlike other wishes, “Balm for the Wounded” has several specific prerequisites that must be met before it becomes available on the Songclave Wish Board. Follow these steps carefully to unlock it.

Discover Songclave Find the hidden sanctuary in the north-eastern part of the Choral Chambers.

Build the Wish Board Activate the “First Shrine” bench in Songclave, then leave and re-enter the area. This will trigger the construction of the Wish Board.

Get the Whiteward Key Find the key located just to the right of the First Shrine bench in Songclave.

Visit Whiteward Use the key to unlock the entrance to Whiteward and visit the area at least once.

Complete “Building Up Songclave” Donate 300 Rosaries to the Songclave Wish Board to complete this prerequisite quest.
Once all these conditions are met, the “Balm for the Wounded” wish will finally appear on the board in Songclave.

Accept the Wish
Section titled “Accept the Wish”Head to the Wish Board in Songclave and accept the quest to officially begin your search for Sherma.
Map to Sherma’s Location
Section titled “Map to Sherma’s Location”Sherma is hidden in a secret sub-area on the eastern side of Whiteward. The map below shows the general location of the door you’ll need to find.

Track Sherma’s Scent
Section titled “Track Sherma’s Scent”As you explore Whiteward, you will come across one of Sherma’s personal items on the ground. Interact with this item to begin tracking her scent. A visible trail will appear, guiding you directly to her location.

Enter the Hidden Room
Section titled “Enter the Hidden Room”Following the scent trail will lead you to a previously unnoticed door. This is the entrance to the small, hidden area where Sherma is located.

Speak with Sherma
Section titled “Speak with Sherma”Enter the door and proceed all the way to the right to find Sherma. Speak with her and exhaust all of her dialogue. This will trigger the next step.

Survive the Ambush
Section titled “Survive the Ambush”After your conversation, you will be ambushed by a wave of 5 enemies. This is a gauntlet-style fight. Defeat all of the enemies to protect Sherma and clear the room.

Complete the Quest
Section titled “Complete the Quest”Once the enemies are defeated, speak to Sherma one last time. She will thank you for saving her, and the quest will be marked as complete.
Rewards for Balm for the Wounded
Section titled “Rewards for Balm for the Wounded”Saving the lost pilgrim comes with some very valuable rewards.
- Spool Fragment: Sherma will give you a Spool Fragment. Collecting two of these permanently increases the size of Hornet’s Silk Meter.
- Unlocks “The Lost Merchant”: Completing this quest makes a new wish, “The Lost Merchant,” available at the Songclave Wish Board, continuing the story of missing persons.
