Where to Find Disgraced Chef Lugoli
Section titled “Where to Find Disgraced Chef Lugoli”Lugoli is located in Sinner’s Road, which is accessible from Greymoor. While you can reach the area early, you can’t access the boss room itself until you have the Faydown Cloak (double jump) ability.
With the cloak, head to the lower halls of Sinner’s Road and look for a path leading upwards that requires a double jump. Once in the room, ring the gong to start the fight.
Loadouts & Preparation
Section titled “Loadouts & Preparation”This build is designed for ranged combat and countering the muckmaggot mechanic, which is the safest way to approach this fight.
- Ability: Silk Spear - The best choice for dealing damage from a safe distance.
- Crest: Reaper Crest - Replaces your standard attack with a wider crescent slash. The increased range makes it easier to pogo on Lugoli and clear out maggots.
- Tools:
- Wreath of Purity: Essential for this fight. It automatically repels muckmaggot infections, preventing your threadspool from getting locked. It is fragile, but you can repair it at any bench.
- Pollip Pouch & Cogfly: This combo lets you inflict a poison DoT from afar. It’s a great source of consistent, safe damage while you focus on dodging.
- Silkshot (Twelfth Architect): Another strong projectile tool for dealing damage from a distance.
- Magnetite Dice: A solid defensive tool. It gives you a random chance to take zero damage from a hit, which can save you in a pinch.
How to Beat Disgraced Chef Lugoli
Section titled “How to Beat Disgraced Chef Lugoli”The fight begins with a small wave of adds, but the core strategy revolves around managing space and the muckmaggot mechanic.
First, when you ring the gong, two smaller “sous chef” enemies will attack. Treat this as an appetizer. Keep your distance, dart in for single hits, and take them down quickly before the real fight begins.
Never stay in one place for long. Lugoli’s attacks are sudden and cover a wide area. Constantly moving makes you a much harder target for both him and the muckmaggot balls he spawns.
The safest way to deal damage is from a distance. Use your Silk Spear and ranged tools like the Cogfly and Silkshot to chip away at his health. This keeps you out of range of his most dangerous melee attacks.
Do not let yourself get trapped in the corners of the arena. Lugoli’s large hitbox combined with his attacks will make it nearly impossible to dodge. Always try to stay towards the center of the room.
Attack Patterns & Counters
Section titled “Attack Patterns & Counters”Lugoli lunges backward with his rear. If he hits the ground, muckmaggot balls may be dislodged. This is his highest damage attack.
Counter: This move is fast. As soon as you see him crouch, dash away from him. Don’t try to pogo on it; just create space.
Lugoli performs a wide swing with his ladle. If the ladle hits the floor, it will spawn two muckmaggot balls.
Counter: The swing has a large but predictable arc. Dash away from him or jump and pogo on his head to avoid it.
The chef slams his ladle directly onto the ground, causing four muckmaggot balls to jump out in an arc.
Counter: The safest place is just to the left or right of where he drops. Stand close to the impact zone, and the arcing maggots will fly over you.
In his second phase, Lugoli will dive under the floor. Waves of muckmaggot balls will erupt from the ground before he resurfaces.
Counter: When he dives, move away from the center of the arena to avoid the initial eruption. Stand between the waves of maggots as they appear. He is vulnerable for a moment when he resurfaces.
