Crawbug Clearing Wish
Crawbug Clearing is an Act 1 Hunt Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. This quest involves helping Creige, the keeper of the Halfway Home in Greymoor, by gathering materials to build a scarecrow and make the area safer from the pesky Crawbugs.
Quest Overview How to Start the Quest
Section titled “How to Start the Quest”This quest has a two-part activation process.

Accept the Wish in Bellhart After defeating the Widow boss and freeing Bellhart, the Wish Board will appear. You can accept the “Crawbug Clearing” wish from this board.

Speak with Creige in Greymoor Accepting the wish on the board is not enough to start collecting. You must then travel to the Halfway Home landmark in Greymoor and speak to the keeper, Creige, behind the counter. He will explain his need for 25 Ragpelts, officially starting the hunt.
Where to Find Ragpelts
Section titled “Where to Find Ragpelts”Ragpelts are dropped by the green, bird-like Crawbug enemies found throughout Greymoor. Different types of Crawbugs drop different amounts.

Craw: The small, common green birds. They are easy to defeat but only drop 1 Ragpelt each.

Tallcraw & Squatcraw: These are the larger variants—one is tall with a sword, the other is stout and throws projectiles. They are tougher but drop 3 to 4 Ragpelts each, making them your primary targets.
Ragpelts Farming Routes
Section titled “Ragpelts Farming Routes”There are two effective strategies for farming the 25 Ragpelts, depending on your preferred playstyle.
This method is simple and low-risk. The area immediately outside the Halfway Home is populated by several small Craws. You can quickly defeat them, then enter the Halfway Home and rest at the bench to instantly respawn them. This is slower overall but very safe and requires no long treks.
For faster results, head further east from the Halfway Home. In the more open areas, you will find the larger Tallcraws and Squatcraws. Defeating these will grant you Ragpelts much more quickly. Find a nearby bench to respawn them and repeat. While more efficient, this route may involve more travel between the bench and the enemies.
Completing the Quest
Section titled “Completing the Quest”Once you have collected all 25 Ragpelts, return to the Halfway Home and speak with Creige. Hand over the materials to complete the quest.
Crawbug Clearing Quest Rewards
Section titled “Crawbug Clearing Quest Rewards”Your efforts yield two significant and distinct rewards.
- Crafting Kit Expanded: Creige will give you the Crafting Kit Expanded, a permanent upgrade that increases the damage of your Tools. This will raise your “Tool Damage” meter to two out of a possible four circles.
- The Scarecraw: After you leave Greymoor and return, you will find that Creige has built a large Scarecraw on the roof of Halfway Home. This permanently removes all Crawbug enemies from the immediate area, making it a truly safe zone.
