Final Audience Wish (Cogwork Heart Locations)

Final Audience is a long and rewarding Wayfarer Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong. This multi-part quest involves reassembling a powerful automaton, the Second Sentinel, by solving puzzles across the Citadel, and then facing it in an honorable duel.

Phase 1: Where to Find All Cogwork Heart Pieces

Your first major task is to find three Cogwork Heart Pieces. Each piece is hidden behind a series of bell-ringing puzzles in three different locations within the Citadel.

This puzzle is in a small, dark room on the left side of the Whispering Vaults. Jump on the floor button to start a puzzle, then hit the bells in the correct order. You must solve three puzzles in total.

  • 1st: 1 - 2 - 7 - 4
  • 2nd: 7 - 5 - 6 - 4 - 5
  • 3rd: 2 - 7 - 3 - 5 - 6 - 1

This puzzle room is located above a silk dispensing machine. Step on the switch three times for three different puzzles.

Phase 2: How to Awaken the Second Sentinel

Once you have all three pieces, they will automatically combine to form the Cogwork Heart. Now, you must deliver it.

  1. Go to the Cogwork Core Travel to the bottom half of the Cogwork Core (the same area used to access the Whispering Vaults).

  2. Find the Sentinel’s Chamber Carefully make your way down the left side of the tall, cog-filled room until you reach a doorway on the left. Go through it.

  3. Reach the Sentinel In the next room, hop across the platforms and look for an opening in the ceiling. Use your Double Jump to get up there. On the next screen, double jump again to a new platform. Break two walls on your right to reveal the chamber of the dormant Second Sentinel.

  4. Activate the Sentinel Break the glass container and interact with the robot to give it the Cogwork Heart. After a short dialogue, it will awaken and disappear.

Phase 3: How to Trigger Final Audience Wish

This is the most unpredictable part of the quest. The wish will not appear on the Songclave board until certain conditions are met after awakening the Sentinel.

Phase 4: Where to Fight the Second Sentinel

  1. Once the conditions are met, the “Final Audience” wish will finally be available on the Songclave Wish Board. Accept it to begin the final phase.

  2. Travel to the High Halls. From the bench, go left one screen, then up one screen. A new entryway will be open on the right. Go through it and walk until you find the Second Sentinel waiting.

  3. Speak with the Sentinel to begin the duel. The fight is not considered very difficult, especially in the late game. Be mindful of its spinning jump attack and its counter-attack.


Upon defeat, Hornet will spare the Sentinel, who will grant you a unique and powerful tool as a reward.

  • Reserve Bind (Tool): This tool acts as an emergency heal. It holds a single charge of Bind. You can use it to heal once even if you have no Silk. The charge is refilled by resting at any bench.
