How to Beat Nyleth (Boss Guide)
Nyleth is a formidable, flower-like boss fought within a memory in a hidden section of the Grand Gate. This battle is a true test of aerial agility, featuring a unique core mechanic where the arena itself collapses, forcing you into a difficult wall-jumping endurance match. Before you can face Nyleth, you must first defeat its guardian, the mini-boss Seth.

Where to Find Nyleth
Section titled “Where to Find Nyleth”Nyleth’s arena is located in a hidden, unmarked path accessible from the Grand Gate’s elevator shaft.
- Travel to Choral Chambers Ventrica Station and descend into the Grand Gate.
- In the main elevator shaft, look for a breakable wall on the left side, about halfway down.
- Enter the passage and break the vines below to open the way to the main chamber.
- Navigate the small flower maze to a long westward corridor. Seth will block your path at the end.
- After defeating Seth, the way to Nyleth will open. Be sure to activate the bench to the right of the shaft (for 15 Rosaries) before the fight.
Builds & Preparation
Section titled “Builds & Preparation”Given the two distinct phases of the fight, we recommend two specialized builds.
1. Burst Damage Build (Phase 1 Focus)
Section titled “1. Burst Damage Build (Phase 1 Focus)”This build aims to inflict maximum damage before the platform collapses, shortening the difficult second phase.
- Silk Skill:
Pale Nails - An excellent ranged skill that remains highly effective during the aerial second phase. - Tools:
Cogfly: Deals consistent passive damage while you are close to Nyleth in Phase 1.
Voltvessels: Can be placed under Nyleth for massive burst damage while the platform is stable.
2. Aerial Summoner Build (Phase 2 Focus)
Section titled “2. Aerial Summoner Build (Phase 2 Focus)”This build is designed for the chaotic second phase, allowing your tools to deal damage while you focus on survival and platforming.
- Crest:
Reaper Crest - Provides a vertical downslash, making pogo attacks much easier and more reliable during the aerial phase. - Tools:
Cogfly &
Pollip Pouch: Creates seeking, poisoned minions that deal damage automatically.
Wispfire Lantern: Summons auto-targeting wisps for extra passive damage.
Ascendant’s Grip: This is critical for clinging to walls during Phase 2.
Collapsing Arena: Phases & Mechanic
Section titled “Collapsing Arena: Phases & Mechanic”This fight’s difficulty comes from its changing environment. Understanding the phases is key.
- Phase 1: The fight begins on a large, stable central platform. This is your best and safest opportunity to be aggressive and deal damage.
- Phase 2: After taking enough damage, Nyleth will destroy the platform. The rest of the fight takes place in the air and on the arena walls, with a pit of thorns below. Thorns will also appear on the wall Nyleth is currently clinging to, forcing you to stay on the opposite side. This “safe wall” is your only refuge.
How to Beat Nyleth
Section titled “How to Beat Nyleth”-
Phase 1: Be Aggressive
The start is your best chance to deal damage. Stay close to Nyleth on the platform and use all your skills and items to hit hard. -
Opposite Wall Rule When the platform falls, grab the wall opposite of Nyleth. If she uses
Cross-Arena Dashto switch sides, move quickly to her old spot since that’s now the safe wall.
-
Air Attack Loop In Phase 2, stick to this cycle: hold on the safe wall,
Double Jumpto Nyleth, land some hits or a skill in the air, then return to the wall. Play steady and don’t get greedy.
Attack Patterns & Counters
Section titled “Attack Patterns & Counters”Phase 1 Attacks
Section titled “Phase 1 Attacks”Nyleth summons 3 thorned spheres from the ground, telegraphed by plumes of smoke. The orbs float up before falling back down.
Counter: Simply move away from the smoke plumes. For a more advanced counter, you can strike the orbs to send them flying back at Nyleth for some ranged damage.
A rapid, close-range attack where Nyleth violently flails the sharp stems on its head. This is used when you get too close.
Counter: The telegraph is a slight dip of its head. As soon as you see it, dash away to create distance.
Nyleth crouches and then dashes across the room to the opposite wall. This move swaps the “safe” and “dangerous” walls by removing the thorns from its departure wall and creating new ones on its arrival wall.
Counter: While on the platform, a simple jump will suffice. In Phase 2, this move is your cue to immediately jump and dash across to the newly cleared safe wall.
Phase 2 Attacks
Section titled “Phase 2 Attacks”Nyleth’s ultimate attack. It charges and releases a massive yellow explosion that covers the entire central area of the arena.
Counter: There is no way to dodge this other than clinging to the safe wall. As soon as you see the yellow energy gathering around Nyleth, retreat to the opposite wall immediately.
Nyleth spits a spread of yellow pollen projectiles across the stage.
Counter: This is relatively easy to avoid. Stay on the safe wall and simply adjust your vertical position to stay within the large gaps between the projectiles.
Rewards
Section titled “Rewards”Upon defeating Nyleth, you will be rewarded with the Pollen Heart, a key item for the “Heart of the Woods” quest.
