Fatal Resolve Wish

Fatal Resolve is a Wayfarer Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong that pits you against one of Pharloom’s former blademasters in a duel of honor. This quest will have you tracking the Pinstress across multiple regions before finally facing her in combat.

How to Start the Wish

To begin this quest, you must first reach Act 3 in the main story. Once you have, travel to the city of Bellhart and interact with the Wish Board to accept the Fatal Resolve wish.

Fatal Resolve Quest Walkthrough

After accepting the wish, it’s time to track down the legendary blademaster. Here is a step-by-step guide to finding her.

  1. Find the Pinstress Home (Blasted Steps)

    Section titled “Find the Pinstress Home (Blasted Steps)”

    Your first destination is the Blasted Steps region. You need to head to the westernmost part of the area, near the entrance to the Sands of Karak. From the Blasted Steps Bellway, proceed right, glide past the hanging cages, and continue until you see a blue flag with pins on your left. Use the balloons and platforms to navigate through a stormy section and you will find the Pinstress’s home.

  2. Read the Note and Update the Quest

    Section titled “Read the Note and Update the Quest”

    Inside the house, you will find a bench and a note. The note reveals the Pinstress’s will and states that she is waiting for you in Mount Fay for one final duel. Reading this note will update your quest objectives.

  3. Ascend Mount Fay

    Section titled “Ascend Mount Fay”

    Now, travel to Mount Fay. The Pinstress is waiting on a cliff near the top of the first major vertical area. You can trace her path by following the trail of impaled bodies and pins left behind. The climb is a challenging platforming section that requires wall-jumps, grappling with your Clawline, and precise timing.

  4. Wake the Pinstress

    Section titled “Wake the Pinstress”

    When you reach the top of the cliff, you’ll see a blue, snow-covered body. This is the Pinstress, taking a nap. Hit her a few times with your needle to wake her up.

  5. Start the Duel

    Once the Pinstress is awake, speak with her to accept her challenge. When the dialogue ends, the duel will begin. Be prepared for a tough fight; the Pinstress jumps frequently and uses ranged attacks.

Rewards for Fatal Resolve

After you defeat the Pinstress in an honorable duel, the quest will be marked as complete and you will receive your reward.

  • Pin Badge (Tool): An emblem of the Order of the Pinstress, the old blademasters of Pharloom. This tool reduces the charge time of your Needle Strike, allowing you to unleash powerful charged attacks more quickly.

The Pin Badge tool is awarded to Hornet after successfully completing the duel.
