A Lifesaving Bridge Wish

A Lifesaving Bridge is a simple Donate Wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong that provides a small but significant quality-of-life improvement to the Bone Bottom area by preventing accidental falls into Moss Grotto.

How to Start the Quest

This quest becomes available on the Bone Bottom Wish Wall as soon as you have reached the Greymoor zone for the first time. Simply travel back to Bone Bottom to find the wish on the wall.

Lifesaving Bridge Walkthrough

1. Accept the Wish

   Approach the Wish Wall in Bone Bottom and select “A Lifesaving Bridge” to begin.

   

   

   Need Shell Shards?

   If you’re low on Shell Shards, the Forge Daughter sells them. Alternatively, there are tough enemies nearby that drop them: one is an acid-spitting beetle on the ceiling left of the elevator between Mosshome and Bone Bottom, and another is in a secret room in Moss Grotto.

2. Donate 300 Shell Shards

   Make sure you have at least 300 Shell Shards. Accepting the wish will immediately deduct the shards and complete the objective. The builder, Flick, will get to work.

   

3. Leave and Return to Spawn the Bridge

   The bridge is not built instantly. You must leave Bone Bottom entirely (fast travel is a good way) and then return. The bridge will now be in place.

   Bridge Not Appearing?

   Some players report the bridge not spawning immediately. If this happens, try traveling to another area, resting at a bench outside of Bone Bottom, and then coming back. This should trigger its appearance.

Reward: New Bridge

Your donation results in a tangible change to the environment, making navigation safer.

Before

The path next to the elevator has a large, open hole leading directly down into Moss Grotto, making accidental falls common.

After

A new wooden bridge now covers the hole, allowing for safe passage.

Warning: The Bridge is Fragile!

You can destroy the new bridge with a few attacks or pogo jumps. Be careful, as the bridge is permanently destroyed if you break it. The wish will not reappear, and there is no way to rebuild it.

A Bridge of Ceremony?

An interesting detail: If you have the bridge built during a certain late-game funeral event that takes place in Bone Bottom, the ceremony will proceed as if the bridge isn’t there—the body will simply clip through it.
