Pain, Anguish, and Misery Wish

By accepting the Pain, Anguish, and Misery wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you agree to attend a second, far deadlier performance by the showman Trobbio. This optional late-game quest challenges you to face a “tormented” version of the boss, who is significantly faster, more aggressive, and more powerful than his original form.

How to Start the Quest

This quest becomes available at the Songclave Wishwell after you have met two key main story requirements.

Prerequisites

To unlock Pain, Anguish, and Misery, you must:

1. Reach Act 3 of the main story.
2. Complete the major quest Return to Pharloom, where you visit The Abyss and unlock the Silk Soar ability.

Wish Walkthrough

1. Accept the Wish in Songclave

   Travel to the Songclave Wishwell in the Choral Chambers and accept the “Pain, Anguish, and Misery” wish. The boss will not appear unless this quest is active.

2. Travel to The Stage

   The fight takes place in the same location as your first encounter with Trobbio: The Stage, located in the Whispering Vaults. The arena is directly above a Bench that has a Bellway and a Ventrica, making it easy to return to on subsequent attempts.

3. Defeat Tormented Trobbio

   Upon entering the stage with the quest active, the fight against the powered-up Tormented Trobbio will begin.

Reward: The Claw Mirrors

After his final, theatrical exit, Tormented Trobbio drops the Dark Mirror.

This is a special tool that automatically fuses with the Claw Mirror (your reward from the first Trobbio fight) to create a new, powerful hybrid tool: the Claw Mirrors.

• Type: Hybrid Blue Tool
• Effect: When using Bind (healing), the Claw Mirrors unleash a searing blast of energy that damages all surrounding enemies.
