Silksong: Awaiting the End Quest

Awaiting the End is a Main Quest in Act 3 of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This quest serves as a bridge, moving Hornet from the aftermath of her ordeal in The Cradle towards the next major objective by confronting the Snail Shamans in the Ruined Chapel.

How to Start the Quest

This quest begins automatically during the opening moments of Act 3. After completing the After The Fall quest, Hornet awakens in Songclave. A dialogue with Sherma will start, which concludes by giving you the Awaiting the End quest.

Walkthrough: From Songclave to the Chapel

Your objective is a straightforward journey from the top of Pharloom back down to its depths.

  1. Descend to the Grand Bellway

    Section titled “Descend to the Grand Bellway”

    From Songclave, make your way to the left and drop down the long vertical chamber until you arrive in the Grand Bellway, where the Bell Beast rests.

  2. Section titled “Recommended: Complete “Beast in the Bells””

    Before proceeding, it is highly recommended to approach the Bell Beast. Attempting to summon it will trigger a boss fight with the Bell Eater and start the Beast in the Bells side quest. Defeating this boss is crucial as it unlocks the Bell Beast fast travel system for Act 3.

  3. Fast Travel to Bone Bottom

    Section titled “Fast Travel to Bone Bottom”

    After freeing the Bell Beast, use it to fast travel directly to Bone Bottom. This will save you a significant amount of time. Using the Bell Beast to fast travel to Bone Bottom. Arriving safely in Bone Bottom via the Bell Beast.

  4. Open the Path to the Chapel

    Section titled “Open the Path to the Chapel”

    From the Bell Beast’s landing spot, exit the Bellway to the left. You will need to break a wooden obstruction on the wall to open the path. Breaking the wooden obstruction to exit the Bellway.

  5. Enter the Ruined Chapel

    Section titled “Enter the Ruined Chapel”

    Proceed left from the exit and drop down towards the familiar entrance to the Ruined Chapel. Following the path leading to the Ruined Chapel entrance. Enter the chapel. Entering the Ruined Chapel.

  6. Confront the Snail Shamans

    Section titled “Confront the Snail Shamans”

    Head to the right inside the chapel. A lengthy dialogue will trigger with the Snail Shamans. They will reveal key information about their motivations and a vessel in the Deep Docks.

Quest Completion

The quest completes automatically after the dialogue with the Snail Shamans concludes.

Immediately upon completion, the next main quest, The Dark Below, will begin.
