Beast in the Bells Quest

Beast in the Bells is a Main Quest in Act 3 of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This quest begins when Hornet attempts to summon the Bell Beast in the Grand Bellway—only to awaken the monstrous Bell Eater instead. Defeating this creature unlocks the Beastling Call ability, granting true fast travel across Pharloom.

To access Beast in the Bells, you must already have reached Act 3 (usually after quests like After the Fall and Awaiting the End).

Attempting to summon the Bell Beast at the Grand Bellway triggers the quest when the Bell Eater interrupts the call.

If the glowing entrance does not activate afterward, make sure your game is updated to the latest version (see Patch Notes).

Hornet begins the quest at the Grand Bellway entrance.


  1. Head into the Grand Bellway to begin the encounter.
    Hornet heading right through the Grand Bellway corridors.

  2. Use the signal to call the Bell Beast. Instead of a response, the Bell Eater emerges violently from the ground.

  3. The creature roars as it appears, initiating the boss fight. Focus your attacks on its head and tail to deal damage.
    The Bell Eater bursts from the ground as the boss battle begins.

  4. Once the Bell Eater is defeated, the Bell Beast appears. Speak to it to complete the quest and receive your reward.

Upon completion, you’ll receive Beastling Call — allowing Hornet to summon Beastlings anywhere by pressing Up + Needolin (Triangle/Y).
This ability enables fast travel to the last Bellway Station visited.

Tip: Beastlings cannot appear on small ledges or in restricted areas like the Abyss.
